Late 19th Century Bureau Plat ''aux Espagnolettes''

This magnificent bureau plat was reproduced in the 19th century from an 18th century model attributed to Charles Cressent (1685 - 1768) part of the Louvre collection (see attached screenshot photo)
It is intended to be placed in the center of a room as evidenced by the careful decoration on its four sides.
The marquetry, in curling and veneer of rosewood, violet wood and mahogany, presents a rich ornamentation of gilded bronzes (espagnolettes at the four corners, sabots in ''claw'' feet, masks on the side crosspieces ...)
The projecting facade reveals three drawers decorated with pull handles and lock entries in gilded bronze beautifully chiseled with foliage and acanthus leaves. We find an identical decoration on the rear facade.
The top receives a Havana morocco leather highlighted with a gilded border with small irons. It is surrounded by a bronze ingot mold decorated with a frieze and shell spandrels.
