Please note: wear of the patina in places, wear of time, see photos. * Hippolyte Marius Galy (1847-1929) is a French sculptor, medallist and painter. A student at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Hippolyte Marius Galy was a student of Auguste Dumont (1801-1884) in sculpture and Fernand Cormon (1845-1924) in painting. He was a member of the Society of French Artists in 1891. He made several models and numerous sculptures for the palaces and buildings of the Universal Exhibitions in Paris.
