“villefranche Sur Mer” Robert Belgrand

Painter of the Lyon School, Robert BELGRAND was born in 1901. He died in 1982. In 1925, he created his silk designer studio in Lyon. Passionate about painting and a great lover of nature, he painted many landscapes of the southern Alps and views of Villefranche sur mer. This work, dated 1957 and located in Villefranche, represents a quayside animated by many walkers and vehicles. The warm tones of the building facades and the bright sky reflect the atmosphere of the Côte d'Azur. The painting is highlighted by a "Montparnasse" frame in patinated carved wood.
