British Summer Landscape By E. Bowly Large Framed Oil Painting Mid 19th Century

Edward Orlando Bowley (British, active 1840-1874), "Lane near Witton" is a quintessential example of mid-19th-century British landscape painting. The painting immerses the viewer in a warm summer scene, where the tranquility of rural life unfolds. In the foreground, one couple are relaxing on the roadside surrounded by picturesque centuries-old trees, while another couple is walking with their beloved dog. Bowley’s meticulous attention to detail and skillful use of perspective create a sense of depth, drawing the eye into the expansive landscape. Not much info on artist on the web, however few galleries and public places have his works so we can figure out how prolific and gifted this artist was.
