Part Of A Sign With Perched Rooster, Double-sided Wrought Iron, 18th Century

Beautiful rooster, wrought and embossed iron, two-sided, riveted on a forged frame, well erected on single leg, the other, muzzled in plumage, holds a mobile ring. The erect leg with powerful spurs is pierced, and held on top of a wrought iron ball by a powerful screw. A stamped iron crown hides, below, a square and large screw thread which was securely bolted.
Dimensions: 49cm x 22cm x 12cm. Weight: 1.8kg
Condition: for rooster: it has been re-riveted recently for consolidation, (see red arrows ...), and attachment of leg to the ball has been revised, keeping head of the original lag screw.
