"Liège 1767, Large Flying Plate In Sterling Silver, Jean François Toussaint Winand"
Sumptuous circular tray on foot or "salver " from the Louis XV period in solid silver. The edges of the tray are richly engraved with rocaille and plant motifs typical of the Louis XV style. It rests on three pretty feet. On the edge of the bottom we can very clearly read the four usual Liège symbols: The coat of arms of the reigning prince-bishop (Charles Louis d'Oulltremont), the year of the beginning of his reign surmounted by the double-headed eagle of the Holy Roman Empire, a date letter of the year of the assai of the object (D for 1767) and finally the master goldsmith's mark TW for Toussaint Winand (active from 1754 to 1791). The tray weighs 655 grams
