"Curved Secretaire 18th Inlaid Walnut And Plum"
Desk - chest of drawers or secretary, this 18th century piece of furniture is curved on the front, and has an inlaid decoration in country wood, walnut, maple, ash, plum, medallions with scalloped contours, in reserve, surrounded by interlacing and scrolls. On the front, 5 drawers in 4 rows and a flap revealing a layout of 8 small curved drawers and a secret. The very functional flap is held by two wrought iron compasses. Work from the East, probably Switzerland or Savoy.
