Elisabeth Hahn (1924-2021) was a German painter, born in Dortmund. She began her artistic studies in Germany before settling in France. In 1953, she moved to Paris, where she continued her training at the Beaux-Arts under the direction of two major figures of modern art: Jean Souverbie and Edmond Heuzé, between 1954 and 1959. From 1962, her works were presented in prestigious exhibitions, including: Les Salons de l'Art Libre, Le Salon de l'Union des Artistes, She was also exhibited in renowned Parisian galleries such as: Galerie Raymond-Creuze, Galerie Cimaise, Galerie Everarts. Her style oscillates between abstraction and expressive figurative representations, highlighting characters, vibrant landscapes, and scenes imbued with emotional depth. Her bold use of colors and dynamic compositions have marked her work.
