Self-taught painter and sculptor, as well as part-time special needs educator, Jocelyne Beaugrand Tual has always loved drawing and led a painting workshop for children with psychosis for 9 years.
Her work is characterized by these incessant back-and-forths linked to her personal history: each state of mind crossed corresponds to a type of work. She likes to explore varied themes such as:
- orientalist landscapes (often painted inside a frame where scrolls and interlacing are mixed), which remind her of the stamp collection of her paternal grandfather who lived in Morocco.
- gardens, for their generosity,
- faces, which allow her to enter into a certain spiritual quest,
- horses for their beauty and their passion.
She still uses oil paint and makes her own frames and stretches them with burlap.
A complete artist, she also practices engraving and sculpture
