"Louis XVI Period Gilded Snuff Box Guilloche Monogram Fluting "
Beautiful round snuff box in gilded brass with rich engraved and guilloche ornamentation. Lid decorated with a monogram "IL" or "JL" in English letters, molded rim and frame of foliage and flowers, roses topped with musical instruments (drum, flute, etc.) The bottom of the lid is decorated with radiating grooves encircled by a cord. The edge takes up on both sides this same cord motif with a ray of leaves on the lid. The bottom of the box, in addition to the cord, is decorated with grooves that alternate with oves. The back of the box is similar to the lid, the radiating grooves here encircle a central motif. Louis XVI period. Diameter: 6.9 cm Height: 2.8 cm
