Student of Gervex and Roll. Famous painter of the Navy, therefore renowned for his scenes of ports, beaches, but he also painted landscapes of central France, such as Moret sur Loing... His favorite places will be the island of Oléron, La Rochelle and the entire Charente coast, but also Brittany, Vendée and Normandy. Today he is one of the best painters to have frequented the island of Oléron alongside Lessieux, Boucart, Verger, Pinetti, Parot, Enard, Heiligenstein, etc. He appeared at the universal exhibitions outside competition: Paris, 1900 - Saint-Louis, 1903 - Liège, 1905 - London, 1908 - Buenos Aires, 1910 - Santiago, 1910 - Brussels, 1910 - Rome, 1911.
