"Antonio Faleri, The Reader, Limoges Porcelain Statuette, Art Nouveau Period"
Magnificent Limoges porcelain statuette representing a woman lying down reading. The whole forms an inkwell with the ink urn in the middle. This is a rare example by Antonio Faleri, sculptor and chambrelan decorator. It appeared at the Gay-Lussac exhibition in Limoges in 1886 and at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889. This sculpture is from the Art Nouveau period with curves, modeling and colors typical of this period. The model is reproduced on page 263 of the book "Limoges deux siècles de porcelaine" published by Éditions de l'Amateur. Very good condition, underneath traces of glue because there must have been felt underneath. Period around 1900. Delivery 18 euros in France, 35 euros in the EU and 100 euros rest of the world.
