Earthenware plate or pocket emptier with polychrome relief decoration of a stylized flower vase and dove, signed below. 20th century circa 1970 Marjatta Taburet (1931) For Hb Quimper Marjatta Taburet is a painter and ceramist of Finnish origin who has become a "Breton" reference in the local artistic heritage. Marjatta followed in the footsteps of pioneering Finnish women artists at the time such as Helene Schjerfbeck (1862-1946), who came to Paris at the end of the 19th century to continue their training at the Julian studio, a painting academy which was then one of the few open to women.
