Large Carrara marble representation of Ceres, goddess of the Harvests, allegory of Summer.

This statue is in perfect condition and rests on its Carrara marble base.
The base has a crack (see photos) but this does not affect the elegance of the whole.

Ceres' face is graceful, the posture voluntary.
This statue is to be compared to the Italian productions of the "Grand Tour".
Provenance Château du Maine.
