Oil on canvas by Adolphe Beaufrere Adolphe Beaufrère born on March 24, 1876 in Quimperlé and died on February 16, 1960 in Larmor Plage. Adolphe Beaufrère entered the École des Beaux Arts in Paris in 1897, where he was a student of Gustave Moreau. He made his debut at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1898.
The portrait proposed was made in 1899. A Beaufrere was then a beginner, we can see a very academic style of the time.
