" S. Francis Of Paola Crosses The Strait Of Messina On His Cloak Painting On Glass 18th Century "
The painting depicts Saint Francis of Paola, an Italian saint of the 15th century, depicted here with the symbolic attributes of his order, the Minims, and the writing "Caritas". Probably of French school, the representation is singular with the Saint suspended between the waves and with glimpses of a port on the sea. The glass support gives the painting a particular luminosity, and it is inserted in a beautiful gilded and sculpted frame of the same period. External dimensions with frame approx. 30x35 cm.
