" French School (18th Century) - Flower Vase"
- Oil on canvas. - This impressive neoclassical floral composition from around 1760 demonstrates the expertise of still life artists in France in the second half of the 18th century. The formal liberalism and hedonism in the choice of themes inherited from the most decorative Baroque and the excesses of Rococo can still be admired in the floral composition, which eludes symmetry. However, the recovery of classical elements in the vase, or the way in which the artist applies a serene chromatic balance to the whole, already reveal the dominance of new aesthetic trends. - Dimensions of the unframed image: 55 x 38 cm / 74 x 57 cm with magnificent frame. - Galerie Montbaron includes a technical sheet drawn up by a qualified art historian with all its lots.
