"Henriette Gudin. Oil On Panel Signed Lower Left. Lively Seaside."
Here is a small 19th century marine very characteristic of a brilliant artist, both for the theme and for the format. Very typical also in the manner, fine, delicate and in the subtle lights. She was born in 1825. French referenced as a painter of landscapes, marines, port landscapes, watercolourist, draftsman. She was a student of her father, known for his marines. Exhibitions in Paris in 1849, 1850 and 1853. We find her works in public collections, museums of Avignon, Blois, Bourges, Brest, Nantes, Orléans, Rennes, Saint Vaast-la-Hougue, but also in the United Kingdom and Belgium. Her marines are often executed on small format panels and our work is no exception to the rule. Dimensions, 21 cm x 13.8 cm. Good condition, it can be cleaned, small very light scratch in the sky at the top center. The painting is signed lower left. See Photos.
