John Giraldo (1950-2014) is a sculptor and artist of Colombian origin, established in Annecy where he left a significant mark on the artistic landscape. After living in Spain and Germany, he settled in France in the 1980s, where he immersed himself in the local culture while continuing to nourish his Latin influences. His sculptures, often made in bronze, address recurring themes such as bathers, but also horses, cats and birds, which contributed to his fame. His career, although relatively discreet, left its mark locally, and his legacy is still visible in several sculptures and public installations, notably in Haute-Savoie.
