Oil on canvas depicting boats sailing in the port of Ouistreham in Normandy. Painting signed "AM Le Petit" and dated on the back of the frame "July 1929". Alfred Marie Le Petit (1876-1953) is a French painter, engraver and designer, son of the caricaturist Alfred Le Petit. Trained at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he became a drawing teacher and exhibited regularly at the Salon d'Automne. His work, influenced by post-impressionism, highlights river and maritime landscapes, notably views of the Seine and La Frette-sur-Seine, where he settled. Honorary President of the Society of Norman Artists in 1934, his works are now preserved in several French museums. Good general condition, minor cleaning required. Dimensions: 46 / 32.5 cm
