The layout of the base is typical of the period with a front foot, two side feet and a rear foot. The legs are well-established but elegantly arched, the whiplash armrests join a fine summit sculpture.
Note in passing the omnipresence of the sculptures, at each end of the four legs, at the base of the armrests, along their length, on the belt of the seat and finally, as previously noted at the top of the backrest.
It should be noticed that the two side feet are in one piece, foot-armrest to the top of the backrest, which thanks to the absence of joints, contributes to the finesse of the whole.
A cushion of fawn leather matches perfectly with the stained beech wood. We will just note that the underside of the cushion, fitted with braids to fix it through the caning, will willingly accept a new lining, the existing one attesting to the regular use of the seat.
Regarding the caning, we will notice the beautiful horizontality and verticality of the lines.
An armchair is a piece of furniture that we see as often from the back as from the front.
We will notice that the back of the backrest benefits from the same treatment as the whole : presence of the sculpture at the bottom of the foot and continuation down to the seat on the central upright of the fine molding which underlines the armrests and the belt of the seat. Without a doubt, this armchair in excellent condition will have a beautiful presence in front of your style desk or will assert its elegance in your living room.
