"Henri Grallan (1861-1925) Pointillist Provencal Landscape. Cantini Museum Marseille, Henri Martin"
Beautiful painting on canvas by Henri Grallan representing a pointillist Provencal landscape around 1910/1920 signed lower left. Canvas size without frame 46x55cm This is therefore a beautiful divisionist canvas by Henri Grallan who paints here a landscape of Provence in his typical dotted touch and in a most lively and colorful palette where yellows, soft greens, pinks, and ochre dominate. In addition, he plays very skillfully with the support by leaving many reserves to serve the motif. How can we not think of the masters of the genre who fatally inspired Grallan, Henri Martin, Paul Signac and other Henri Edmond Cross. We know little about Henri Grallan, except that he was from Marseille, that he mainly painted around his city and in Provence. Today we can admire one of his works in the Cantini museum in Marseille alongside Seyssaud, Olive, Crémieux etc... This canvas is in its original state, well, I just point out a few small lacks on the very bottom of the canvas that's all. Delivered in a simple contemporary baguette. Work guaranteed authentic
