"Pair Of 18th Century Solid Silver Forks, Bordeaux 1743, Single-plated, Pierre Rivière."
Uniplat model forks with teardrop spatulas, characteristic of 18th century Bordeaux production, in solid silver.
Good condition, very shiny, but uneven and rather short tines, see photos.
Bordeaux 1743 charge mark and almost illegible discharge mark.
Community mark: "BOR L" Bordeaux 1742/43.
Master silversmith mark: Pierre Rivière (younger brother) born in 1696, received master in Bordeaux on April 27, 1718.
Period monogram: "IP" on each spatula.
Length: 18.5 cm.
Total weight: 167 g.
