Faience Picture Of Christ Crucifixion, Late 17th Century

Magnificent painting on faience / earthenware depicting Christ on the cross.
Set in a light, bluish atmosphere. Christ is portrayed with eyes open, looking down towards the ground, while his loincloth floats in the breeze to his left. These characteristics suggest the work dates to the second half of the 18th century.
It is presented in its period frame in thick wood, carved and painted in black and gilded.
On a label on the back, the word the term 'Samadet', but the painting was not made at Samadet faiencerie (this was confirmed by the museum of faience in Samadet ).
Frame dimensions 38cm x 30cm x 4.5cm.
Weight 3 kilos.
Good condition of the faience with a very slight hairline in the faience at the height of Christ's hip : traces of wear and age to the frame.
