"Saint John, 18th Century Drawing In A Paperolle Decor"
Object of piety, typical of the end of the 17th or beginning of the 18th century, consisting of a naive pen drawing, representing Saint John visited by the Holy Spirit enhanced with colors and varnish, surrounded by paperolles (rolled and gilded paper). The whole is in a box under glass and framed in a regency frame. Note the absence of relics (perhaps removed during the restoration) and charming old decorative rhinestones. The bottom having certainly been damaged over time (worms and insects are fond of 18th century cardboard...), it was therefore changed in the 60s by a framer, who carefully closed the set of old notarial deeds in parchment. If this charming object has been restored, it is now protected and in excellent condition.
