"Baroque Opera Porcelain Statuette"
Statuette representing an opera character (singer or dancer) in stage costume and singing position. White porcelain circa 1880-90, French or German manufacture. I did not find any distinctive marks. It could be Pierre Jéliote, famous high counter of the mid-18th century during the reign of Louis XVI. He performed in many of Rameau's operas. Perhaps here in Les Indes Galantes or Les Paladins. Good general condition apart from the traditional and minor light accidents on the foliage at the back. Dimensions: height 29 cm Base 11 X 12 cm
