Ink drawing (pen and wash), signed lower right. Dimensions: 30.5 x 18.5 cm An exhibition was held in Saint-Etienne when the book was published from February 10 to 28, 1951 Bibliophilie: "Pensées" Blaise Pascal, 1950. In-4, 206 p., book illustrated with 57 original engravings, etchings, by Albert Gleizes including several out-of-texts. Editions de la Cigogne,5 Albert Gleizes, at the request of the publisher Jacques Klein, undertook a two-year work to illustrate Pascal's Pensées. He gave the keys to understanding it in his introduction to the exhibition catalogue when the work was released in Saint-Etienne in 1951 under the title "Why I illustrate Pascal's Thoughts". The original text also appeared in the newspaper Arts/Beaux-Arts dated Friday 24 March 1950.
