"Mauboussin Bird Of Paradise Vintage Brooch Polychrome Enamel And Diamonds On Yellow Gold "
Animal brooch in 750/°° yellow gold (18 KT, eagle's head hallmark) signed by the jeweler Mauboussin in the 60s/70s. It represents a bird of paradise with widely spread wings, whose shimmering colors of blue, green and yellow are rendered by an enamel in perfect condition. The figurative and realistic work of sculpture is found both in the curved movement of the brooch, representing the bird in full wingbeat, and in the chiseling on its wings, rendering in detail the plumage of the bird. Its eye is set with 8/8 cut diamonds. The brooch is fitted with a double pin bearing the signature of the jeweler, by an engraving "Mauboussin Paris". The clasp system consists of two sliding latches. Under the bird's beak, the inventory number of the jewel is engraved like the beautiful pieces of jewelry of the great names. This brooch is very representative of its time: these years saw the return of cheerful jewelry, with figurative motifs, mainly flowers and birds, resulting in jewelry of beautiful size, with harmonious curves and multiple and vibrant colors. Gross weight: 22.47 g Condition: imperceptible micro-scratches on the metal, natural inclusions in the diamonds not visible to the naked eye, enamel in very good condition.
