In walnut, with wrought iron brackets and a single-piece top. Baroque-style lyre table, made entirely of walnut, with carved profile legs and a rectangular top with a smooth profile in a single piece. The legs have a mixtilinear cut, based on recesses and projections of great dynamism and decorative sense, in chiaroscuro even if they are not carved, which speak to us of the typical taste of Baroque Europe. Thus, we see complex lines that combine simple curves, edges and steps, creating lively shapes that are at the same time regular and symmetrical, in the typical style of Baroque classicism. The legs are connected to the top by curved iron brackets, typical of this typology. Lyre-legged tables were born in the Spain of Charles II, during the second half of the 17th century. The simplest tables have a simple cutout in the side legs and are even entirely carved in the models with a peripheral center. The fact that the top is plain, without decoration, is explained by the fact that the tables were covered with rich fabrics that fell, practically hiding the entire table. Thus, in less wealthy homes, which could not afford to cover luxury tables, the decoration had to focus on the legs, which were therefore carved. Inspired by the tables of classical antiquity (in marble and with cross supports), they have two removable side supports for transporting the piece of furniture, which can have a lyre or vase-shaped profile.
