"Wig Commode In Amaranth - Louis XV Period - 16,800"
A chest of drawers called a “wigmaker” with a curved shape in amaranth wood. It opens with a large drawer and rests on slightly arched feet. Richly decorated with bronzes with floral motifs and asymmetrical scrolls typical of the Louis XV style. It is topped with an elegant red rance marble. This piece is stamped by Charles SAUNIER, a cabinetmaker who worked in the Faubourg Saint Antoine, and had the mastery before 1738. Louis XV period.
