He studied in Paris and exhibited at the Salon des artistes français in 1877. Fascinated by the Orient, he traveled to Algeria, Egypt, Palestine and Syria in the 1890s. He settled in Algeria, sharing his time with Fontainebleau, and painted scenes of life, landscapes and portraits. His work, bright and colorful, reflects his attachment to these regions. He exhibited regularly in Metz until 1936. His paintings bear witness to his admiration for Algeria, which he considered a concentrate of the Orient. Modern frame.
