Magnificent and rare Very Large Candlesticks in gilded bronze and patinated and chiseled bronze Restoration period circa 1820. End of the Empire period. Dimensions Height: 44 cm Base Diameter: 14 cm Condition report: Double patina, Superb condition original Mercury gilding and Brown Patina. Superb finesse of chiseling. Traces of use and age. A hole has been filled on the base, and a later element inside the socket to pass an electrification. The manufacturing is of a high level with 15 different pieces. A bronze maker's punch is placed on certain parts with a G or GG. This pair of Candlesticks, made with masterful precision, has a mercury gilding that is both matte and polished, creating a striking depth and shine. Their state of conservation is remarkable and exceptional. Flambeau Architecture: Each torch with a clear presence and a firm seat. It rests on a beautiful octagonal base with large curved palmettes resting on a round plate, in double patina. On a pretty and large round pedestal with a decorative outline of small laurel leaves, rests a half sphere with various rings, decorated with palmettes and acanthus leaves, from which stands a magnificent fluted shaft with an Antique column with a rich decoration of acanthus leaves and palmettes on its capital and with numerous moldings. At the top, it ends with a pretty socket in the shape of a Medici Vase richly decorated with foliage, gadroons, palmettes, and acanthus leaves and with a bobeche with a gadroon outline, originally removable, but fixed because inside the socket a later electrification element to pass a wire tightens the whole.
