"False Landing / Norman Wedding Dresser – 19th Century"
Charming 19th century Norman false landing, probably from the Manche region, made of solid chestnut wood, a species renowned for its robustness and naturally insecticidal properties. This piece of furniture is in good general condition, including the feet, which is rare for this type of furniture often exposed to humidity. The false landing was traditionally used to store milk and cream in a cool, airy space before being transformed into butter or cheese. It was also used to store and display dishes, while being part of the furniture offered as a dowry at weddings. It consists of three shelves, a central drawer with original handle, as well as an open lower part. Its console base is in good condition. With its beautiful original patina, this false landing combines aesthetics and functionality. Dimensions: Height cm Delivery possible on estimate.
