A fairly rare Makonde or Luguru ceremonial axe with finely carved pattern and brass caps. The wood has a beautiful patina and some age-related cracks. The axe is intended for ceremonial use and shows craftsmanship typical of South East Africa, most likely Makonde, Tanzania.
