"Early 17th Century Pair Of Embossed Brass Almoners "
Splendid pair of embossed brass almoners. The brim is flat, adorned with a thin engraved stylised decoration, while the umbo is raised and decorated with an oblique engraved pod motif. Furthermore, the umbo is surrounded by a band with an inscription in alphabetical characters. These elegant plates were used as almoners during functions, being held out to collect offerings. Of great taste and antiquity, these objects are able to furnish any environment with elegance and history. German manufacture from the first half of the 17th century.
