"Ram's Horn Snuff Box Silver Gold Lined Scotland Early 19th Century"
A ram's horn tip hot worked to form the spiral forms the body of the snuff box. The round lid is decorated with a two-tone horn plaque worked to represent an 8-petalled daisy, centred by a yellow stone on pinkish paillon mounted in a bezel setting on yellow metal (gold?).
The hinged mount is silver lined with a thin layer of 9ct pink gold, unmarked, acid tested on the touchstone.
A superb and unusual Scottish snuff box in perfect condition, early Victorian, circa 1840.
