- Olive spoon of the plain-flat model, with a chamfered stem and a slightly curved drop-shaped spatula without a shoulder. Oval spoon decorated with a pierced grid of olives and quatrefoils topped with a fleur-de-lys with tulip falls and tears forming volutes.
- Few olive spoons from this period are listed in Bordeaux. From our goldsmith's brother-in-law, an olive spoon by Marc Lalanne senior from 1741-1744 with an identical spatula and a very similar repiercé, is kept at the Musée Lyonnais des Arts Décoratifs (Inv. O105.1011) ([1] p.76).
- The hallmarks (on the stem): warden's mark: BORD // I between two grains of remedy, jurande of Bordeaux, from November 5, 1738 to December 21, 1739 ([1] n°65 p.152; [2]); master goldsmith: A, an ermine, R surmounted by a crown, first hallmark (after between 1718…1753) of Antoine Roberdeau master goldsmith in Bordeaux, 1718 to 1773 ([1] pp.406-408); charge: K fleuronné, charge for silver works in Bordeaux from October 1, 1738 to 1739 ([1] n°66, [2]).
