In 1903 he was admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where he stayed for only one year. During his stay in Prague he painted the corners of Prague in his works, which also appeared in Zlatá Praze and were published on postcards by the publisher Jedlička. In 1907 he was sent to Bosnia, from where he deserted in 1908 and retraced his dramatic journey in his works. The following year he went to Paris, where he settled and received public recognition. Between 1909 and 1914 he exhibited four times at the famous Paris Salon, but nothing is known about his further fate after 1914. He trained in watercolours with the painter Jan Köhler
