Beautiful and imposing Louis XVI period clock in richly chiseled and gilded bronze with black marble base. France, late 18th century.
The large mechanism is inserted between two lion heads; at the top of the clock is placed a neoclassical urn.
The mechanism, entirely original, is signed "Pinta jeune à Paris"; silk thread suspension and striking on bronze gong.
Beautiful original gilding in very good condition.
