Indochina, circa 1880 two large vertical panels in exotic wood veneer with very detailed mother-of-pearl inlaid decoration and of very high quality of execution This so-called scholarly decoration is animated by vases, birds evolving on a branch of cherry blossom and calligraphic motifs. The two panels are slightly different in size A slight crack of a few cms to be noted on the top of a panel. Slight wear of use at the corners due to age Provenance from the collection of a senior official then stationed in Indochina. Measures H. 166.5 x W. 25.5 cm and H. 173 x W. 24 cm
