pair of Louis XV candlesticks in silvered bronze, the curved shaft with a cut-off side mounted on a contoured ogee foot, hallmarked with the C Couronné*, from the 18th century. These candlesticks are in very good condition, they are of remarkable quality. The silvered bronze does not show any desilvering. They are hallmarked with the C Couronné each on the foot. Designed under Louis XV to be a tax hallmark, the crowned C has also become for collectors a hallmark of quality and date: used between 1745 and 1749, it seems to have been carved only on the most refined bronzes.
