"“inassouvie” By Fernand Dubois 1890 Plaster Sculpture Standing Nude"
Plaster sculpture named "Inassouvie", signed Fernand Dubois and dated 1890, in very good condition. Height 42 cm Fernand Dubois (1861-1939) is a Belgian sculptor and medallist in the Art Nouveau style. He was a student of the sculptor Charles Van der Stappen. He participated in the exhibitions of the Groupe des XX and the artistic circle of La Libre Esthétique. On the occasion of the General Assembly of the Royal Numismatic Society of Belgium on 2 July 1893, he made a token in memory of Prince Baudouin of Belgium (1869-1891) who had recently died. In 1901-1903, he had a mansion with a workshop built for him in Forest (Brussels) in the Brussels suburbs by Victor Horta, known as the Maison-atelier du sculpteur Fernand Dubois. The door handle and the doorbell of this building were made by Fernand Dubois himself.
