Large 19th Century Nevers Earthenware Planter, Antoine Montagnon

Large cache pot in the shape of a Medici vase in Nevers earthenware from the Antoine Montagnon factory, period 1875 - 1889.
It is decorated with a monochrome decoration of blue and yellow on a white background as well as two lion heads in relief on the sides.
The Montagnon earthenware factory or Bout du monde factory is an earthenware factory founded in 1648 in Nevers, bought by Antoine Montagnon in 1875. Its production was rewarded in 1876 with a diploma of merit at the Universal Exhibition of 1876 in Philadelphia, then with a first gold medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1878 in Paris and a second at the Universal Exhibition of 1889.
