Large abstract modernist sculpture in chestnut wood. Height 212cm. Provenance fond d'atelier of Roland LAVIANNE (1948-2022). This collection was acquired in collaboration with STUER antiques (Aalst - Belgium) and Pschantiques (marché Paul Bert , Paris Saint-Ouen) We present here one of the two largest sculptures from his workshop. Simplifying forms to the extreme, Roland LAVIANNE develops a powerful play of volumes, shapes and lines, using light as a building material. Roland LAVIANNE translates a real mastery of the balance of volumes and lines of force, the characters, motionless and dynamic, seem to weave a theatrical conversation forever suspended.
