Charles-Jean-Baptiste Renaud French painter born in Brest (Finistère) on April 6, 1891 and died in Albi (Tarn) on August 3, 1972. Student of Ernest Laurent at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes français from 1921. Arriving in Albi to be a drawing teacher at the Lycée Lapérouse the following year, he married Rose Gasc there, also a drawing teacher. Oil on canvas representing a still life with peppers and persimmons. Signed lower right. The canvas bears on the back the stencil mark of "Blanchet, 38 rue Bonaparte in Paris".
