Very beautiful pen drawing, Indian ink, ink wash or watercolor on bistre paper around 1930. It represents a young naked woman lying under a tree. Beautifully enhanced by its old gilded frame with a wide canvas band, with the most beautiful effect. Signed lower right. Member of the Salon d'Automne, Ivanna Lemaître is listed in BENEZIT. Dimensions: 30.7 cm x 41 cm 52 cm x 61 cm with its frame Good general condition. A slight halo at the left corner, friction mark at the bottom towards the center (see photos). Its frame benefits from a beautiful old patina, some wear and chips of gilding. Born in Saint Petersburg in 1893, Ivanna Lemaître died in Nice in 1973, the city where she rests. Russian painter and mosaicist, wife of André - Hubert Lemaître, fresco painter to whom we owe in particular the frescoes of the salon of Marshal Lyautey at the Colonial Exhibition of 1931 or the Palais de la Porte Dorée in Paris. Then she will set up her easel along the sea, from Cannes to Monaco where she will create many decorative mosaic panels, inks, watercolors and oils on various themes: villages and chapels of the hinterland, views of the Mediterranean, mythological subjects.
