It is one of the oldest cities in the world and is the ancient Ecbatana, which is referred to in the book of Esther.
The city is the center of a large trade in carpets, produced in the surrounding towns and villages.
The best of them are marketed under their own name, such as Nahavand, Malayer .... .
They are easy to recognize thanks to their typical patterns and format.
The patterns are very variable and we find both medallion carpets and carpets with repetitive patterns.
The colors are dominated by various shades of indigo blue and madder red.
Old Hamadan carpets are often very beautiful and very attractive items.
This carpet has been professionally and ecologically cleaned.
