A lovely Burmese bronze Buddha with a sublime expression seated in the Bhumisparsha mudra known as the earth touching position. This gesture represents the moment of the Buddha's awakening as he claims the earth as witness to his enlightenment. Shan States, Eastern Burma (Myanmar), 18th century.

Period - 18th century

Condition - The back of the base is damaged , in spite of this the Buddha still sits soildly.

Measurement - Height 26 cm
