Bowl-shaped suspension in multi-layer glass paste with acid-etched decoration of blue flowers and leaves with well-defined veins on a yellow-orange background that lights up warmly in the light. Three stylized flower-shaped hooks hold the suspension and extend into chains that meet in the center of the ceiling light cover. Signed Gallé. Cup height: 9 cm Emile Gallé (1846-1904) born in Nancy in 1846 and died in 1904 is a French industrialist, master glassmaker, cabinetmaker and ceramist. He is the founder and first president of the École de Nancy in 1901. A child of art and commerce, he is one of the most prominent figures in the applied arts of his time and one of the pioneers of Art Nouveau.
