"19th Century Swiss Or Tyrolean Carnival Mask In Carved Wood, Alps"
Very rare 19th century carnival mask in polychrome carved wood representing a grimacing head. Probably Swiss or Tyrolean, this is an Alpine mountain work. Object in fair condition in its "juice" beautiful patina, wear to the polychromy, a crack on the bottom of a cheek, remains of leather fasteners that allowed it to be worn on the face, some wormholes (not active). This is an authentic and old mask that was worn at the time. Beautiful work of folk art. Dimensions: height 24 cm width 15.5 cm
